ASEASUK is Britain's national association for Southeast Asian studies and a globally respected leader in research and knowledge of this dynamic and increasingly significant region. We work to foster and maintain the vibrancy of Southeast Asian studies with the aim of advancing individual and collective knowledge of Southeast Asia.

Our recent conference, held 16-18 September 2016 at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London, was the largest ever, with over 300 delegates presenting 285 papers and good networking opportunities. Outside the academic programme there was plenty of other enjoyable activity too, including a guided visit to the British Museum's Shadow Puppet exhibition, Balinese dance, and film screening.
