The organization was founded in 1999 to look into the disparities in the way Southeast Asians are treated within the United Kingdom. Before the end of the 20th century, the community was shown to be quite vulnerable to cardiovascular illnesses, including diabetes.
The approach to health with the community is varied and it is the intention of the organization to gather prospective stakeholders to campaign for Southeast Asians to be given the attention and help that is afforded to them.
Our patrons and trustees are able partners in the charity and have helped address the inequity in the community by expanding the knowledge on the medical conditions and the situations faced by Southeast Asian populations living in the West.
The organization provides medical practitioners with new opportunities to expand their knowledge on healthcare and patient care, especially in treating Southeast Asians. There are also grassroots efforts made to engage with the community itself, including workshops, classes and exercise sessions for overall wellness. This organization is a philanthropic endeavor but is greatly supported due to its efforts to help a somewhat ignored community in the country.
